Low Emission Vehicles for Police Workshop
Case Study
The Challenge
Cenex were appointed by the elected Police Commissioner to develop and deliver a two-day learning programme for Senior Police Officers and staff to understand the opportunity and challenges of low carbon vehicles and the associated recharging and refuelling infrastructure.
The Development
Cenex developed and ran a two day interactive learning programme covering all aspects of fleet decarbonisation for a rural Police Service. The programme was aimed at operational Police Officers and support staff with a variety of backgrounds and knowledge. Topics covered included: environment, climate and vehicle policy, operational performance, recharging infrastructure, innovation as well as procurement and delivery.
The Result
The training enabled the team of Officers and Staff to develop a clear programme to enable the electric vehicle vison of the Police Commissioner to be delivered. This included a pilot of electric vehicles for victim support as well as in front line operational roles. The team also gained an understanding of the short term charging requirements at key locations as well as the long term power challenge when the majority of the fleet are electrified.
