Charging Infrastructure Business Case Assessment Tool (CIBCAT)
Associated with the ZEV Alliance, the Charging Infrastructure Business Case Assessment Tool (CIBCAT) has been designed to assess the business case of a project to install public charging at a single site in any market across the globe. The tool provides an assessment over a ten-year period (the assumed lifespan of the chargers), providing common financial metrics for the project.
The user needs to provide details on the chargers and associated costs for the project. They can also add a PV array and Battery Energy Storage System if desired. Projections of power prices and chargepoint utilisation should also be provided. The tool produces a cashflow statement, along with charts of performance at the site over the ten-year period. The tool is pre-populated with case studies in Canada, China, India & Netherlands.
